Abstract
Collagen hydroxyapatite/gum arabic (ColHA/GumA) composite material was prepared by in-situ synthesis method using calcium nitrate, diammonium hydrogen phosphate, acid-soluble collagen and gum arabic as raw materials. The structural characteristics of the composite materials were studied and characterized using X-ray diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR), and their mechanical properties, water absorption, enzymatic degradability, and acute cell toxicity. The results show that the inorganic phase in the obtained composite material is mainly hydroxyapatite with low crystallinity. This hydroxyapatite is evenly dispersed in the complex composed of collagen—gum arabic, forming a new interface. . The research results of mechanical properties, water absorption properties, enzymatic degradation and acute cytotoxicity show that the composite material is a promising bone tissue replacement material.
