Abstract
Objective: To study the effect of Tinglizi water extract on blood pressure and left ventricular myocardium and myocardial perivascular collagen proliferation in pressure-loaded rats. Methods: Incomplete abdominal aortic banding (AAB) was used to create rat models of myocardial hypertrophy and myocardial fibrosis. After 30 days of drug intervention, the systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and heart rate (HR) of the rats were measured. The left ventricular myocardium was pathologically sectioned and stained with HE, and the cross-sectional area of the left ventricular cardiomyocytes was measured ( myocardium cell cross section (MCCS); VanGieson collagen staining, measuring myocardial tissue collagen volume fraction (collagen volume fraction, CVF) and myocardial perivascular collagen area (perivascular collagen volume area, PVCA), and observing left ventricular myocardial morphological changes. Results: Compared with the sham operation group, the animals in the model group had increased SBP, DBP, HR, MCCS, and increased CVF and PVCA production (P<0.05). Compared with the model group, the positive drugs captopril and Tinglizi 8g.kg-1 can significantly reduce the SBP, DBP, and slow down the HR of the model animals; reduce MCCS, PVCA, and CVF, and the difference is significant (P<0.05); Tinglizi 4g.kg-1 can significantly reduce MCCA, PVCA, and CVF, and the difference is significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The aqueous extract of Tingli Semen has the effect of lowering the blood pressure of pressure-loaded rats, inhibiting the hypertrophy of cardiomyocytes, reducing the cross-sectional area of left ventricular cardiomyocytes, reducing interstitial and perivascular collagen deposition, and improving ventricular remodeling.
