Abstract
Samples were taken from food waste, livestock markets and slaughterhouses, etc., and the plate transparent circle method and pig skin digestion test were used to initially screen for collagen-degrading bacteria. The plate transparent circle method and shrimp shell digestion test were used to initially screen for chitin-degrading bacteria. The collagenase and chitinase activities of the fermentation broth were measured and the strains were re-screened. The target bacteria were identified morphologically, physiologically and biochemically, and 16S rDNA sequence, and the bacteria were used to degrade food waste rich in collagen and chitin in situ outdoors. 11 strains were isolated that can efficiently degrade collagen. Among them, B3 and C3 have high chitinase activity and can effectively digest shrimp shells; the collagenase activity of B3 is not significantly different from that of C3 (P>0.05), while Chitinase activity was significantly higher than C3 (P<0.05). B3 was identified as Bacillus subtilis. This bacterium degraded food waste rich in collagen and chitin in situ outdoors for 2 days. The degradation effect reached 24.78%, which was 15.74 percentage points higher than the control. For further information of this article and research, feel free to contact our team for asssitance.
