Abstract
Objective To explore the joint effects of soy isoflavones, calcium and collagen on bone density and biomechanics in postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP). Methods A sham operation group was set up; ovariectomized rats were divided into negative control group, high, medium and low dose groups and calcium carbonate control group. They were given basic feed and different doses of test substances and calcium carbonate respectively. After 12 weeks, bone tests were carried out. Density and biomechanical determination. Results The test substance could increase bone density and improve some bone biomechanical properties. Conclusion The test substance combining soy isoflavones with calcium and collagen can improve bone quality in osteoporosis caused by estrogen deficiency.
