Abstract
Gelatin extracted from leather waste is used as raw material, and acrylamide (AM), acryloyloxyethyltrimethylammonium chloride (DAC) and butyl acrylate (BA) are used as monomers (AM:DAC:BA molar ratio is 80 :18:2), tert-butyl hydroperoxide and sodium metabisulfite are used as initiators, and are graft-copolymerized into hydrophobically modified cationic collagen flocculant P (C-AM-DAC-BA). Using the flocculant’s removal rate of simulated oilfield wastewater turbidity as an indicator, the effects of m (gelatin): m (monomer), initiator dosage, grafting temperature, and grafting time on the flocculation effect were discussed. P was obtained through response surface method optimization. (C-AM-DAC-BA) graft copolymerization optimal conditions: m (gelatin): m (monomer) is 1:2.04, initiator dosage 0.032mol/L, grafting temperature 49.2¡æ, grafting time 2.8h . Under these conditions, the turbidity removal rate of P(C-AM-DAC-BA) in oil field simulated wastewater was 91.5%.
