Abstract
Using tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as the precursor, SiO2/collagen hydrolyzate-polyvinyl alcohol hybrid composite membrane (SiO2/CH-PVA hybrid membrane) was prepared in situ using the sol-gel method. The effect of SiO2 on the properties of hybrid films was investigated through swelling, thermogravimetry (TG), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and tensile experiments. The results show that the introduction of SiO2 reduces the equilibrium swelling degree of the membrane, slows down the swelling rate of the membrane, and effectively inhibits the dissolution of collagen hydrolyzate. The absorption peaks of Si-O-Si and Si-C bonds in the infrared spectrum indicate the formation of a cross-linked organic polymer/inorganic hybrid system. The introduction of SiO2 significantly improves the thermal stability and mechanical properties of the hybrid film. The mass fraction of SiO2 increased from 0% to 20%, the tensile strength of the hybrid film increased from 18MPa to 25MPa, and the elongation at break increased from 510% to 780%.
