Abstract
Abstract Collagen Corporation has applied for a world patent (WO94/16750, PCT) for the production of recombinant human collagen in transgenic animal milk. Gene Pharming Europe, a subsidiary of GenPharm, has signed a contract with Collagen Corporation to produce transgenic mice that express human collagen in their mammary glands and secrete human collagen in their milk. Currently, Collagen Corporation has invested more than $1.6 million in GenPharm to expand its contractual agreement to commercialize human collagen produced from genetically modified milk milk. This investment helped GenPharm increase capital by more than $8 million during 1994
