Abstract
In this article, collagen protein was extracted from bovine tendon by enzyme digestion and was spread to form membrane materials. Then the materials were crosslinked by formaldehyde to form guided tissue regeneration materials. The results from the test of physical and chemical properties of materials show that the mechanical properties and water absorption ability of materials exceed those of foreign products. Also the major structural groups like carbonyl, carboxy, hydroxy and amino groups still exist. According to the observations of collagen enzyme in vitro and muscle implantation in vivo tests, the degradation times of the materials in vitro and in vivo are 240 hours and 60 days respectively and the degradation residue is hydroxyproline. The results of biological evaluations show good biocompatibility and no anaphylaxis,pyrogen and carcinogenicity.
