Study On The Inhibition Of Fibrous Capsule Of Expanded Skin Flaps By Gelatin-Chitosan Membrane

Abstract
Objective To study the effect of gelatin-chitosan film on the fibrous capsule of expanded skin flaps. Methods: An expansion flap model was made in 60 Wistar rats, a gelatin-chitosan membrane was implanted, and water was regularly injected for expansion. The fibrous capsule on the surface of the expander was cut out and pathological sections were made. Measure the capillary and collagen content within the fibrous capsule. Results Under light microscopy, the capsule was mainly composed of collagen fiber deposition, with a small amount of inflammatory cell infiltration and capillary proliferation. The surface density of coated collagen in the experimental group at 6 weeks and 12 weeks after surgery was (0.22¡À0.08) and (0.27¡À0.05) respectively, which was lower than that in the control group (0.37¡À0.07) and (0.34¡À0.07). The difference was statistically significant (t =6.03,3.20,P0.05). Conclusion Gelatin-chitosan membrane interferes with the formation of fibrous capsule, reduces the collagen content in the capsule, inhibits fibrous capsule, and does not affect skin flap nutrition.
