Abstract
Abstract: Objective To study the feasibility of artificial nerve-chitosan composite collagen catheter in repairing 15mm sciatic nerve defect in rats. Methods 10 rats with sciatic nerve defects of 15 mm were repaired with the help of artificial nerves. Seven rats with nerve defects served as the control group. Immunohistochemistry, Osmium staining, Bodian staining, specific staining of motor end plates, and WGA- HRP nerve tracing and gross observation. Results: The regenerated nerve repaired the sciatic nerve defect 2 months after surgery, and no rejection or obvious inflammatory reaction occurred in the experimental animals. Conclusion Artificial nerve conduits have a good bridge effect and promote nerve growth in the repair of defective sciatic nerves.
