Abstract
Artificial bone replacement material – hydroxyapatite is implanted in the body. As the bone tissue and collagen fibers grow in its pores and the hydroxyapatite degrades, the overall elastic modulus of hydroxyapatite will gradually change. In order to determine the impact of soft tissue on the elastic modulus after implantation in the body, hydroxyapatite samples were implanted under the skin of rats and taken out after 20, 40, 60 and 80 days of implantation, and studied using digital image correlation methods. Effect of fibrous tissue on the elastic modulus of artificial hydroxyapatite. Research results show that the elastic modulus of hydroxyapatite increased significantly when implanted subcutaneously in rats for 20 days, with an increase of 28.83%. After that, the change in elastic modulus became smaller. Analysis suggests that the initial tissue fibers adhere to the micropores of hydroxyapatite and play a reinforcing effect. Afterwards, the reinforcing effect of soft tissue regrown on the surface of the soft tissue will gradually weaken.
