Shellac, Volatiles, Thermal Desorption – Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry
Abstract
In order to improve the quality of shellac products and avoid odor, dynamic headspace closed cycle adsorption method and thermal desorption-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (TCT-GC/MS) combined technology were used to analyze shellac collagen, granular shellac, and normal temperature drying method. The volatiles of bleached shellac, bleached shellac by vacuum freeze drying method, and bleached shellac by hot squeeze drying method are captured, analyzed and detected. The results show that the volatile chemical components of different shellac raw materials and products are mainly benzene series, accounting for more than 90%, 90%, 60%, 30%, and 80% of the total volatile matter respectively; due to the addition of Due to impurities, drying and other reasons, the types and quantities of volatiles detected in different shellac raw materials and products increase or decrease to varying degrees. Bleaching processing has no significant impact on shellac volatiles. In the production and utilization of shellac, attention should be paid to selecting reasonable technologies to reduce Volatile odor
