Abstract
Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of applying Haiao collagen biofilm combined with hydroxyapatite bioceramic artificial bone in the treatment of 152 patients with periodontal and periapical bone defects. Methods From June 2006 to September 2010, 152 patients with periodontal bone defects and or apical bone defects were clinically collected from the Department of Periodontics, Hospital of Stomatology Affiliated to Chongqing Medical University. Root canal treatment was completed, and periodontal and supragingival scaling were performed routinely. After subgingival scaling and root planing, flap surgery was performed to implant hydroxyapatite bioceramic artificial bone to fill the bone defect, and Hai’ao collagen biofilm was placed. Reviews were performed every 6 months, and X-rays were taken to observe the post-implantation changes. The healing of bone tissue in the periodontal alveolar and apical bone defect areas was examined, and bleeding on probing, probing depth of periodontal pockets, attachment loss, looseness, and alveolar bone conditions were examined, and comparisons and statistical analyzes were conducted. Results After 1 to 4 years of follow-up observation, 138 cases were effective, with a total effective rate of 90.8%, and 14 cases were ineffective, accounting for 9.2%. In patients with periodontal bone defects after surgery, the periodontal pocket depth (PD) was significantly shallower than the baseline (5.80¡À0.86) mm [PD value 6 months after surgery (3.33¡À0.64) mm, P<0.05]; postoperatively The clinical attachment loss (CAL) changed significantly compared with the baseline (6.10¡À0.83) mm [CAL value 6 months after surgery was (3.52¡À0.32) mm, P<0.05]. Conclusion Haiao collagen biofilm combined with hydroxyapatite bioceramics as bone tissue scaffold material can be widely used in dental bone repair and bone replacement treatments, and the clinical efficacy is reliable.
