Abstract
? Objective To study the antagonistic effect of cucumber aroma on liver fibrosis in rats. Methods 48 rats were randomly divided into normal control group, model group, normal saline group and cucumber fragrance intervention group. A fully automatic biochemical analyzer was used to detect alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) and hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining were used to observe the microstructure of the liver, and immunohistological staining was performed to detect type I and III collagen, ¦Á-smooth muscle actin (¦Á-SMA) and transforming growth factor ¦Â1 (TGF- ¦Â1). Results The ALT, AST and ALP of the cucumber aroma intervention group were (70.8¡À12.3), (112.3¡À26.4) and (169.1¡À21.2) U/L respectively, which were significantly lower than those of the model group (P<0.01); the cucumber aroma intervention group There was no statistically significant difference in the expression of liver type ¢ñ, ¢ó collagen, ¦Á-SMA and TGF-¦Â1 compared with the normal control (P>0.05). However, compared with the model group, the expression was significantly enhanced, and the differences were statistically significant (P< 0.01). Conclusion Cucumber aroma extract can intervene in the process of liver fibrosis and significantly reduce the area of fibrotic tissue.
