Abstract
Abstract Purpose: To study the effect of EDC cross-linking on the physical and chemical properties of ionized collagen scaffold materials. Methods: The ionized collagen materials used in the experiment were prepared by using side chain modification combined with carbodiimide cross-linking modification technology: natural collagen, methylated collagen, and succinylated collagen. Liye transform infrared spectrometer and in vitro enzyme degradation experimental analysis were used to study the structure and properties of collagen materials before and after cross-linking. Results: Side chain modification changed the surface charge properties of collagen, and carbodiimide cross-linking improved the pore size, porosity (P<0.05), denaturation temperature, and resistance to enzyme degradation (P<0.05) of natural collagen and methylated collagen. ), changed its chemical structure; but had no significant effect on the pore size, porosity, and chemical structure of succinylated collagen, and reduced its denaturation temperature and resistance to enzyme degradation (P<0.05). Conclusion: EDC cross-linking can significantly improve the physical and chemical properties of ionized collagen scaffold materials, providing an experimental basis for its preliminary application in periodontal tissue regeneration.
