Abstract
Objective: To study the calcium absorption-promoting effect of collagen peptides (CPs) in mice. Methods: The mouse low-calcium dietary model method was adopted, Kunming male mice were used as experimental animals, and a normal group, a low-calcium model group, a calcium carbonate group, a low-dose CPs (500 mg/kg mb+CaCO3), and a high-dose (1 000 mg /kg mb£«CaCO3) group and casein phosphopeptide control group were administered orally continuously for 6 weeks to examine the serum calcium, phosphorus, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, calcium absorption rate, various bone indicators and bone microscopic Structural and trabecular bone morphological changes. Results: The ALP activity of mice in CPs low- and high-dose groups was significantly lower than that of the low-calcium model group (P<0.05). The bone length, dry mass index, bone calcium content, bone mineral density (BMD), bone The mineral content (bone mineral content, BMC) was significantly higher than that of the low-calcium model group (P<0.05). The CPs low-dose group could make the various indicators of mice fed low-calcium feed reach the level of the normal group of mice. The ALP activity of mice in the CPs low-dose group was significantly lower than that of the calcium carbonate group (P<0.05), and their bone calcium content, BMD, and BMC were all significantly higher than those of the calcium carbonate group (P<0.05), suggesting that CPs should be supplemented while supplementing calcium carbonate. , which has a better calcium absorption effect. Conclusion: CPs can increase the calcium absorption rate in mice, increase the number and strength of bone trabeculae, and promote bone growth, thereby effectively promoting calcium absorption.
