Abstract
Objective To explore the changes in matrix gene expression of condylar chondrocytes after anterior disc displacement of the temporomandibular joint. Methods 40 white rabbit temporomandibular joint anterior disc displacement animal models were established, and digoxigenin-labeled cRNA probe in situ hybridization technology was used to detect changes in the gene expression of type II collagen and proteoglycan polymers in condylar chondrocytes at different stages of postoperative disease. . Results A large amount of type II collagen and proteoglycan polymer mRNA expression could be seen in the cytoplasm of cells in the deep proliferation layer, hypertrophic layer and calcification layer of normal condyle. Proteoglycan polymers began to decrease 1 week after surgery, reached a low point at 2 weeks, and returned to normal levels after 6 weeks. Type II collagen continued to decrease after 4 weeks, and its expression decreased more significantly than that of proteoglycan aggregates, and gradually returned to normal after 8 weeks. Conclusion The matrix gene expression of condylar cartilage changes in an orderly and coordinated manner after anterior displacement of the articular disc. This change means the initiation of adaptive reconstruction.
