Abstract
Objective: To study the effect and mechanism of Atractylodes atractylodes from Maoshan, Jiangsu Province on rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and compare it with Atractylodes atractylodes grown in non-regional areas, Hubei Yingshan and Shaanxi Huayin. Methods: A rat collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) model was established, the incidence and clinical scores were evaluated, the pathological morphology and radiological changes of joint tissue were observed, serum anti-type II collagen antibody IgG and IgM levels, joint tissue homogenate supernatant and Changes in the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1¦Â, TNF-¦Á and IL-6 in serum and serum inflammatory mediator PGE2. Results: The incidence of CIA in the model group was nearly 88%, and the average clinical score of arthritis was 8. The joints showed obvious histopathological changes such as inflammatory cell infiltration, pannus formation, cartilage and bone destruction, as well as joint space narrowing or widening, joint Imaging changes such as facial insect-like damage, increased serum IgG and IgM levels, and significantly increased levels of IL-1¦Â, TNF-¦Á, IL-6, and serum PGE2 in joint tissue and serum; compared with the model group, the Jiangsu Atractylodes group Significantly reduced the incidence and clinical scores of arthritis, joint histopathological scores, bone destruction degree in X-ray films, and serum IgG and IgM levels, and also significantly reduced the levels of cytokines and inflammatory mediators in joint tissue and serum; Hubei and Shaanxi The Atractylodes group can also significantly inhibit serum IgM. The Hubei Atractylodes group can still reduce the levels of serum IL-1¦Â and IL-6 in joint tissues, but other inhibitory effects on arthritis are not obvious. Conclusion: Atractylodes atractylodes grown in Maoshan, Jiangsu Province, can effectively control the occurrence and development of CIA in rats, and its mechanism of action may be related to inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and inflammatory mediators. Atractylodes atractylodes grown in non-official areas such as Hubei Yingshan and Shaanxi Huayin has no obvious preventive and curative effect on CIA in rats.
