Abstract
Objective To establish a stable inferior alveolar nerve injury and fracture model and explore the effect of the inferior alveolar nerve on the expression of type ¢ñ collagen in the mandibular fracture callus. Methods: Big-eared white rabbits were selected, and the bilateral inferior alveolar nerves were freed, the right side was preserved, and the left side was cut off. On this basis, a 2 mm ¡Á 5 mm fracture model was made, and stained with hematoxylin-eosin and chromotropic acid 2R-Brilliant Green. , in situ hybridization staining to detect the healing of mandibular fractures and the expression of type I collagen during the healing process. Results: The mandible with normal inferior alveolar nerve innervation successfully completed fracture healing, but fracture healing was delayed after nerve disconnection. In situ hybridization staining of type ¢ñ collagen showed that the mRNA of type ¢ñ collagen on the nerve-preserving side was more obvious than that on the nerve-disconnected side in the 1st and 2nd weeks, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); in the 3rd and 4th weeks, the level of type ¢ñ collagen between the two sides was The difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). Conclusion The inferior alveolar nerve has a regulatory effect on mandibular healing and can affect the early expression of type I collagen mRNA.
