Abstract
Purpose: To compare with natural healing, to observe the alveolar bone height and alveolar bone height after 6 months of healing when molars with bone defects were extracted and simultaneously implanted with deproteinized bovine bone matrix (bio-oss?) and covered with absorbable collagen membrane (bio-gide?). width changes. Methods: A total of 18 molars from 16 patients extracted due to periodontal disease were included in this study and divided into a control group (natural healing group after tooth extraction) and an experimental group (preservation of tooth extraction sites using deproteinized bovine bone matrix and absorbable collagen membrane). Group). Parallel projection periapical radiographs and cone-beam computed tomography (cbct) examinations were taken immediately after surgery and 6 months after surgery. The alveolar bone height and alveolar bone height at 6 months after surgery were evaluated through periapical radiographs and CBCT measurements. width changes. Results: Six months after surgery, the alveolar bone heights in the central and distal buccal sides of the test group increased by 2.90mm and 1.45mm respectively, while in the control group, the alveolar bone heights in the central and distal buccal sides decreased by 1.00mm and 1.45mm respectively. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (p<0.05), but the difference in bone width changes between the two groups was not statistically significant (p>0.05). Conclusion: Preserving molars with bone defects using deproteinized bovine bone matrix and absorbable collagen membrane at the extraction site can significantly increase the height of the buccal alveolar bone and the width of the alveolar bone at 1mm and 4mm above the alveolar crest.
