Abstract
Objective To compare the effects of Fusobacterium nucleatum, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevotella intermedia and Haemophilus actinomycetemcomitans on the collagen-coated hydroxyapatite experimental membrane (C-HA) that have the ability to adhere to the tooth root surface. Adhesion ability, preliminarily explore the ability of the above suspected periodontal pathogenic bacteria to form plaque biofilm on the tooth root surface. Methods The isotope scintillation counting method was used to determine the adhesion amount and adhesion rate of the above four bacteria to the C-HA surface, and compare their adhesion abilities. Results: When cultured for the same time, whether cultured for 24h or 48h, four different bacteria were compared in pairs. Fusobacterium nucleatum ATCC10953 and Porphyromonas gingivalis ATCC33277 had no statistically significant difference in the surface adhesion rate of C-HA; the middle average There is no statistically significant difference between the adhesion rates of F. Prevotella ATCC25611 and Haemophilus actinomycetemcomitans ATCC29523 (P<0.001). The same bacteria were cultured for different times, namely 24h and 48h, and there was no statistically significant difference in the adhesion rate of the C-HA surface. Conclusion Different suspected periodontal pathogenic bacteria have different selective adhesion effects on collagen-coated hydroxyapatite. Fusobacterium nucleatum and Porphyromonas gingivalis have strong affinity for collagen. The colonization process may play an important role in the progression and recurrence of periodontitis.
