Abstract

Recent literature reports that hepatocytes cultured in vitro can produce collagen fibers, but whether hepatocytes in vivo can produce collagen fibers in situ remains unclear. This article reports using light and electron microscopy to observe the in situ production of collagen fibers by liver cells in guinea pig liver damage caused by immune response.
