Abstract
isotope analysis in ancient bones can reveal the source of drinking water for ancestors and animals, restore the ancient environment in which they lived, and provide important reference information for exploring the origins and migration status of ancestors. Select the city level of the Shang Dynasty in China 17 animal and ancestor skeletons unearthed from the Xiaoshuangqiao site in Zhengzhou. Based on C and N stable isotope analysis of food structure, O stable isotope analysis was used to analyze the differences in d¦Ä18O values among animal species and the sources of drinking water and metabolic methods. The relationship with dietary structure, as well as the reasons and identities of the differences in d¦Ä18O values of ancestors were discussed. The results showed that there are large differences in the d¦Ä18O values of collagen of different species of animals, and these differences are related to the proportion of C3 and C4 foods in individual diets. It has little to do with it. It is more affected by the d¦Ä18O value in drinking water and metabolism (ruminant and non-ruminant). Ruminant animals are significantly higher than non-ruminant animals. In addition, the d¦Ä18O values of the ancestors at the site are also quite different. , indicating that these ancestors may have come from at least two areas during their lifetime. The ancestors buried in the cluster burial pit H66 in Area V came from areas closer to the ocean than some of the ancestors in the stratum of Area IX. Combining ancient documents and archaeological data, It is speculated that the ancestors buried in the cluster burial pit H66 in Area V are most likely Dongyi people.
