Abstract
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) has good physical and chemical properties and has good application prospects as an implantable biomaterial. However, its hydrophobicity and biological inertness restrict the material’s medical application. Therefore, It is particularly important to modify materials to improve their biocompatibility. The article first briefly describes the necessity of surface modification, especially the surface modification of PET; secondly, discusses the current research status of using acrylic acid to modify PET at home and abroad; and then discusses the use of collagen to modify medical polymer materials. The current research status of improving the biocompatibility of materials; finally, the application prospects of PET modified materials are pointed out.
