Abstract: Streptococcus mutans is closely related to caries, infective endocarditis, atherosclerosis and other lesions. The collagen laminin-binding protein (Cnm) on its surface has the ability to bind collagen and laminin. ability. The 165 amino acid sequences numbered from 152 to 316 in the Cnm protein molecule are highly similar to the collagen domain of collagen-binding proteins, and have high homology with the collagen-binding proteins of Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis and Streptococcus equi. Cnm protein exists in Streptococcus mutans and mediates the binding of bacteria to the extracellular matrix and invasion of host cells; in addition, CnaB and CbpA proteins may also play an important role in binding to the extracellular matrix and invading host cells. Researchers believe that: on the one hand, Cnm protein can be used as a biomarker to screen patients to determine whether preventive treatment is needed; on the other hand, Cnm protein can also be used as a target for the treatment of Streptococcus mutans infection; however, current research No effective drugs that can inhibit cnm genes or Cnm proteins have been found, and further research is needed.
