Study On Freeze-Drying Process Of Natural Polymer Porous Scaffolds

Abstract
Objective: To shorten the time for preparing polymer porous scaffolds by changing the freeze-drying process conditions. Methods: The frozen polymer solution was directly sublimated and dried above the freezing point of the solvent in a vacuum, and its feasibility as a process for preparing porous scaffolds was evaluated by examining the pore structure and appearance of the scaffold. Results: Scaffolds of three different materials, namely chitosan, collagen, and gelatin, were prepared, all with uniform through-hole structures and can be used in tissue engineering research. Conclusion: Porous scaffolds can be produced by vacuum drying frozen samples at a temperature higher than the freezing point, and the preparation time can be greatly shortened. However, this process sometimes causes cracking and collapse, which affects the quality of the scaffold, so it is still problematic. Needs further improvement
