Abstract
Study the extraction of pepsin-soluble collagen from the fimbria of jellyfish (Rhopilema esculentum) and some of its physical and chemical properties. Amino acid composition and SDSPAGE show that jellyfish parasol collagen (PSC) is type I collagen; the sugar content is 2.8%; the thermal denaturation temperature and heat shrinkage temperature are 28.8¡ãC and 51.6¡ãC respectively, both lower than bovine skin type I collagen; Infrared spectrum shows that PSC retains a large amount of triple helix structure; solubility shows that the isoelectric point of PSC is pH6 and has maximum solubility at pH3; under acidic conditions, when the salt concentration is higher than 4% (m/V), the solubility of PSC sharply decreases. decline
