Tetrandrine Inhibits Collagen Synthesis In Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells

Abstract
Objective To observe the effects of tetrandrine (tet) on collagen deposition in blood vessel walls and collagen synthesis in vascular smooth muscle cells. Methods Hydroxyproline content was used to reflect aortic collagen deposition, and [3h]-proline inclusion was used to reflect cellular collagen synthesis. Results Compared with the sham operation group, the hydroxyproline content in the aortic wall of rats with renovascular hypertension was significantly increased; tetrandrine can effectively reduce the collagen content in the aortic wall and inhibit [3h]-proline in a concentration-dependent manner. Acid enters vascular smooth muscle cells induced by anii or ne. Conclusion Tetrandrine inhibits collagen synthesis in vascular smooth muscle cells and collagen deposition in arterial walls, which is one of the important mechanisms by which it reverses vascular remodeling.
